About the deal

Meridian Corporate Finance LLP ("Meridian") advised the management team of Mail Solutions, a print,  envelope and mailing group on their management  buy-out for more than £7 million.

Mail Solutions was sold by household repair group Homeserve plc as part of its strategy of focusing on its core business of domestic insured repair services. This deal follows Homeserve's disposal of water company South Staffordshire plc in April 2004.

The buy-out team comprised six managers from different Mail Solutions companies and was led by group management  Director Alan Griffiths. 

Alan Griffiths said "This is good news for our customers And employees because there has been uncertainty over the future of the company. The strategy for the next 12 months will be consolidation and then we will review which areas need investment."

Michael Barcia of Meridian said "There were a number of unusual elements to the way in which this transaction was structured, which required a creative approach from those involved. The buy-out preserves a strong management team and represents an exciting opportunity to develop the business further.“
